Sean Lajaunie, PhD
In therapy, you have a safe, private, and supportive environment where you and I can address the patterns of problems that you want to understand and change the most. To do this, I use evidence-based therapies, which means that they have been evaluated vigorously by clinicians and the scientific community and shown to be effective for your specific therapy needs. However, every therapy is different and I work with each individual who begins therapy to create a plan that ensures we are always on the same page. In your sessions, you can expect to talk about your thoughts, emotions, relationships, wishes, fears, and behaviors, reflect on them, and work toward healthier patterns of living.
Dr. Sean Lajaunie is a licensed psychologist and holds his PhD from Louisiana Tech University. He provides individual therapy, group therapy, and assessment services at Riverway. Devin Hammons, LPC
Devin Hammons is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and holds his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama. He has worked in the mental health field for more than fifteen years in settings that include individual counseling centers, substance abuse treatment, acute care hospitals, and community counseling.
Devin provides counseling with adults facing a broad range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship concerns, and the effects of trauma. His approach draws from psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies and is guided by the idea that most of our current problems started out as the best solutions we had at the time. Therapy provides a space to examine how those solutions once may have worked for you, and how your changing circumstances and difficulties call for new ways of understanding yourself. He is committed to staying current with the latest therapeutic methods to offer the most effective care possible.
Devin brings a lifelong passion for psychotherapy and for the arts to his counseling. He believes effective therapy should be alive with interest, helping clients rediscover hope, curiosity, and a renewed engagement with their own lives.
